This project aims to apply laser technology to nanotechnologies.

We believe that MouldTex will enhance the performance of moulded products in terms of efficiency and durability. 
MOULDTEX is a project with a strong research component and combines the most sophisticated innovations in the fields of optics, nanotechnologies and laser.

It is not by change that the members of the project team come from both major Research Institutes and leading companies in the respective industrial sectors.

 

Important objectives are intended to be achieved:

 
  • decrease in friction with results from 30% to 80 % improvement compared to untreated surfaces;
  • controlled increase for applications where greater friction is required at the same conditions.

The MOULDTEX consortium intends to obtain this result through stable control of the surface roughness in order to obtain stable and measurable parameters used to process the surfaces.
 
To do so, the consortium partners are committed to developing a series of technologies with innovative features including a holistic design software where it will be possible to enter the degree of required friction; an integrated and highly performing work process among the consortium members; laser engraving with machines fitted with in line optics inspection; an optimised mould designing software and much more.
 
ML Engraving is an active part of the consortium and has already patented an innovative calibration system for laser machines.
