Description
2D and 3D laser engravings on moulds
The Just in Time division addresses mainly to mould-makers and machine shops that require technical laser engravings on moulds, plates or rolls for embossing.
Rapidity is a prerogative of ML Engraving, that is able to run the most urgent orders. Accuracy is guaranteed by the laser beam, which provides engravings with a 0,05 mm minimum diameter and 0,002 mm minimum depth.
Another key feature of the laser technology is the possibility to easily engrave welded parts, because the laser beam doesn't corrode metal, rather removes it.
The most frequent works of Just in Time are:
-
2D/3D laser engraving on large cylinders and embossing rolls;
-
3D laser engravings of logos and codices on tempered matrixes;
-
laser engraving of tempered components with coupling to the hundredth;
-
laser engraving of very fine details on milling and EDM works;
-
execution of electrodes with logos or writings in relief or engraved;
-
full figures (micro-gears, strips, micro-seals, threads);
-
industrial trims;
-
micro-engravings on bevelled surfaces.
Comparison between Just in Time engraving and EDM
The laser engraving technology can be used in order to make graphite or copper electrodes, but it can even substitute the EDM method. By means of the direct laser engraving, ML Engraving can save a lot of time of the production cycle, as you can see:
Just in Time
-
creation of the digital file;
-
engraving of the mould with high quality laser technology.
EDM
-
creation of the electrode file;
-
separation in various electrodes for complex figures;
-
creation of roughter and finishing files;
-
milling of the electrodes;
-
electro-erosion of the mould with the electrode;
-
replacement of electrodes due to wear.
