The FabFork is the perfect union of creativity and technological innovation. This is the reason why, after more than a year from its release at 2011 Fuori Salone, the FabFork keeps on gathering success.
The last appearance was on the 3rd February 2012 at
Giovanni Scafuro’s new event called Cocktail in Library at Design Library Cafè (Milan), where the designer exposed the latest creations of his unique
Forkinprogress collection.
The story so far: creativity meets technology
ML Engraving and Giovanni Scafuro meet during the 2010 Fuorisalone, the exhibition/event that takes place during the Salone del Mobile week in Milan, in which designers open their showrooms at the visitors.
Giovanni Scafuro’s atelier expresses the eclectic attitude of the designer, in constant search for new materials: ceramics, plastic, metals, plexiglass and so on.
During the meeting Scafuro talks about his brand new idea, that is the creation of a special fork that embodies both functional and aesthetic features. For this reason the designer's interest is addressed to
superficial textures that can literally dress the fork.
The challenging opportunity offered by the designer is greeted enthusiastically by ML Engraving. As a matter of fact, its division Nuovo Cesello is dedicated exactly to special projects like this one. Moreover ML Engraving takes this collaboration as a chance to display the world of industrial design, the advantages of its
sustainable and advanced laser technology.
The FabFork project has let to the laser engraving of the textures on the surface of the stainless steel fork. The remarkable result, to see and to touch, has gathered the approval of many blogs such as
FrizziFrizzi,
DesignSpotter,
Design your Life and design magazines, such as
Icon Magazine.
