ML Engraving accesses the 2nd phase of H2020

ML Engraving overshoots thanks to its cutting-edge engraving technology. The project "Infinite" of our company is one of the 20 Italian projects approved by the European Commission in occasion of the public competition Horizon 2020. The selected projects will have to overcome an additional selection, in order to obtain a non repayable financing for their realisation. The satisfaction is really great for the team, that developed the project according to the restrictive parameters of the competition.

Engraving techniques and nanotechnology: in occasion of the public competition Horizon 2020 ML Engraving presented to the European Commission a very innovative and cutting-edge reasearch & development project, called "Infinite", that was studied in cooperation with DS4 Laser Technology. The Sitec lab of the polytechnic institute of Milan and other important international research centers will also take part to this project.

Horizon 2020 is the new funding system of the European Commission, destinated to reasearch & development projects. It envisages a specific section, that is exclusively devised for projects of relatively small companies. In this first half year these projects could be presented. More than 2650 projects from 21 European countries have been presented and only 155 of them, among which our "Infinite", have been evaluated adequate to access to the second phase of the public competition. Each of these projects will receive 50.000 €, in order to support the presentation of the definitive proposal. Every project, that will overcome the second selection will have the possibility to receive a non repayable funding to a maximum of 2.5 million €.

Spain saw 39 of its projects approved, followed by UK (26 projects) and Italy (20). On the average 5,81% of the presented European projects accessed to the second phase. Unfortunately only 20 Italian projects (the 4,58% among the 436 presented) have been considered successful in this first phase.

Mr. Ersilio Lodetti, Project Leader Engineer of "Infinite" says: "The participation to this international competition is a very hard challenge for a company like ML Engraving. At the same time it is a very educational process. We are very satisfied with the obtained result and will work hard, in order to go on with the development of our idea, together with our partners".
