The balance of this edition was clearly positive for ML Engraving, thanks to the renewed stand and, above all, new exposure: between visiting customers and numerous new contacts interested in 3D laser engraving, our stand was always a source of curiosity and attention.
But, let’s take a look at the innovations presented at the show:
-
the new stand: the idea of this new stand originated from the need to show more that the world of 2D and 3D texture engraving, but also all those technical engravings that often solve problems during moulding of plastics. The most frequent problems that we have solved include: the reduction of extraction or creation of air bubbles during moulding of plastics, engraving of words or logos with dimensions that cannot be reached with a milling machine, the construction of electrodes and the world of Micro Laser Grains with measurement of the gloss and roughness;
-
the presentation of the new texture collection inspired by the dichotomy between natural and synthetic. Read more;
-
the management of the preview of the file. This way the customer can check the areas that will be engraved, making sure the depths correspond to the project;
-
presentation of the first results of SoftSlide, the European project aimed at producing optimised seals and with low friction for dynamic sealing systems. This project, which involves 5 international partners, is exceeding all expectations. The conducted tests tend to be aligned in relation to theoretical studies conducted by research centres. Reducing friction, and consequently wear, of seals for dynamic and pneumatic sealing systems, may lead to a full-fledged revolution for numerous segments of the market on a worldwide level. -
the display of numerous new products, which prove ML Engraving’s know how.
Based on our experience, the establishment of The Innovation Alliance turned out to be useful: among our visitors, we estimated a +25% of audience from IPACK-IMA a trade show specialised in food and non-food processing and packaging, a very interesting industrial sector for the surface texture world.
Plast 2018 in a nutshell - figures provided by the trade show organisers
PLAST 2018 recorded the presence of 1,500 exhibitors - in an area of 55,000 net square meters - with a significant growth, more than twenty percentage points, of exhibitors from abroad, proof of the international nature of the show which, for example, witnessed a significant increase in Chinese and Iranian groups.
More than 63,000 visitors, based on the estimates of the organisational Secretariat, visited the Plast pavilions including the RUBBER halls-satellites (for the rubber industry), 3D PLAST (additive production and similar technologies) and PLAST-MAT (innovative plastics).
Foreign visitors accounted for 27.5%, from 117 countries, with Spain, France and Germany with the highest representation.
The next appointment is for May 2021.
